The Center for Multimedia Assisted Instruction was established in 1994, on the basis of the unit for communication methods in the education.
The center's goal is its establishment is "to enable teaching and learning through the best use of advanced technologies".
Since the center was founded, there have been major changes in the combination of advanced technologies in teaching and the center for multimedia is striving to get the best technologies and promote the Hebrew University in the field.
In recent years, the Hebrew University has implanted the use of advanced technological methods in all courses by fitting the technologies to the course's character. It includes "smart tables" in many class rooms, video-conferencing and automatic video cameras to film courses.
Alongside providing technical solutions, the multimedia center offers movies production and documentation for internal university officials, as well as external and private costumers.
In addition, in the past three years, the center for multimedia has initiated the university virtual tour and YouTube channel.
